The Sweet Spot’s Mardi Gras Edition Comes to Houston

Created By: Zondra Victor. Burlesque dancer Apathy Angel performs at The Sweet Spot.

The Sweet Spot is a pop-erotica burlesque show featuring a variety of performers. Spoken word artist, Iz-Real, was the MC of the event and also performed a couple of his works. He along with Ainsley Burrows and Laurielle Noel led the 30-city burlesque tour to Houston.

The show took place at Warehouse Live on 813 Saint Emanuel Street on Friday, March 11th. The show began at 7pm and ended at 10pm. An after party took place after the event.

The Sweet Spot brought comedy, spoken word, and musical performances to the art of burlesque. There were four burlesque dancers that performed. One performer amongst the group was international burlesque dancer and contortionist, Apathy Angel. She stunned the crowed with her sensual moves. The dancer choreographed her performance to The Weeknd’s song, “Earned It.”

The glamour of burlesque dancing has been seen in films such as the 2010 hit “Burlesque.” Burlesque dance in Texas is slowly gaining more popularity with the many festivals popping up around the Houston area, including last month’s Houston Burlesque Festival.

The Sweet Spot is leading the way for innovative burlesque shows around the nation. For more information about upcoming events, visit
