On Friday, April 5th, Aurora Picture Show is hosting their traditional BYOB event from 8-10pm at The Menil Collection. This is an outdoor event and is free to attend. Bring your own snacks, projectors, and blankets. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own films, videos, and other imagery. To register for this event, click here.

 

An Evening with Margaret Atwood

The original 1985 novel, "The Handmaid's Tale" is still on the bestseller's list! The television adaptation has also won numerous awards. Come and participate in an insightful conversation on Friday, April 5th at the Jones Hall for the Performing Arts, starting at 7:30pm. Learn about an artist's role in society and find out the secret behind Margaret Atwood's creative process. Tickets can be purchased at www.spahouston.org.

On Friday, April 5th and Saturday, April 6th, Reggie Rex will be participating in a live painting event at D. Bar, 4409 Emancipation Ave. This talented painter is also a rapper and poet. Follow him on Instagram and get tickets here.

 

Beyond Sacred: Voices of Muslim Identity

On Friday, April 5th and Saturday, April 6th the Asia Society Texas Center will host a production that will surely be a conversation starter. Five young adult Muslim Americans who grew up in a post-9/11 society portray their everyday life in an interview-based theater production. Tickets are $20 for Asia Society members and $30 for nonmembers. The event will last from 7:30-9:30pm. Click here to buy tickets today!
